The Challenge
A transportation company was using SAP Asset Performance Management (SAP APM) to manage maintenance recommendations, reliability improvements, and asset strategies.
While the standard SAP APM functionality supported core recommendation management processes, important business information required by the organization could not be fully captured within the standard application.

Missing references to important legacy information and engineering data

Requirement to maintain a Clean Core architecture while extending functionality

Our Solution
Lighthouse developed a side-by-side extension using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), fully integrated with SAP Asset Performance Management.
The solution extended the standard recommendation management process through a custom SAP Fiori application that embedded seamlessly into the existing SAP user experience. More than twenty customer-specific business fields were introduced to support engineering, maintenance, and operational requirements while maintaining alignment with SAP best practices.
By leveraging a side-by-side architecture, the solution delivered the flexibility needed by the customer while preserving a Clean Core approach and ensuring long-term maintainability.
